Ladles

Foundry Ladles
FTL-Roper Limited, is the UK’s largest supplier of foundry ladles and molten metal distribution systems, with an extensive world wide customer base. The West Yorkshire based company has specialised in ladle and cupola melting equipment for over 75 years and has for many years offered fabrication and machining services to a wide range of industries.

Service and Customer Care
Many customers rely on FTL-Roper’s expertise to repair, refurbish and replace Ropers or other manufacturers ladles and gearboxes to keep their ladles in good condition. This is vitally important in the light of tough health & safety requirements concerning lifting and pouring of molten metal.

Some Roper ladles recently repaired, with capacities of 10,000kg were manufactured over 30 years ago and are still in good working order.

An extensive range of ladle spares is available ex-stock.

Capacity, Quality, Safety
FTL-Roper Limited is a World leader in the supply of foundry ladles and molten metal distribution systems. For most of the company’s existence it has also built cupolas and ancillary charging and stockyard facilities. The manufacturing resources at keighley, West Yorkshire, are capable of building geared crane ladles with capacities from 180 kg up to 65,000 kg. All incorporate FTL-Roper’s own high-quality oil-bath gearboxes. Customers have the option of specifying a handwheel friction brake which can secure the ladle in any position during pouring. As an additional safety feature, ladles can have motorised units fitted to the gearboxes to allow remote operation

Extensive Range
The company produces trolley-mounted ladle hoists designed for monorail suspension.  The FTL-Roper ladle range also includes bottom-pouring ladles, geared drum ladles, treatment ladles for such purposes as nodularising of ductile iron, or desulphurisation in conjunction with a porous plug, all manufactured in a range of standard capacities to suit most customers requirements.

Hot metal receivers (heated or unheated) are supplied by FTL-Roper with manual or powered tilting, are designed to minimise temperature loss and are available with 1,000kg - 10,000kg capacity.
